Bob Willems moved to Houston in late 1979 after graduating from film school in California in 1976. He was a founding partner of South Coast Video in 1981 and moved into the entertainment business in 1987 forming Champion Entertainment and RW Productions. Bob spent time filming music videos for Kings X and Galactic Cowboys, both local bands that achieved national prominence. His first directorial feature was Twisted Fear in 1991, a quirky thriller that happened to be Claude Akins last film. After that feature, Willems directed episodes of American Bounty Hunter for UPN and created his own Television series, that was syndicated worldwide on Discovery International. Willemsís next feature, Grim Weekend, was picked up by Artisan and re-issued under the acronym S.I.C.K. which has received Love It or Hate It reviews, but has continued to have an underground following to this day.

After his company moved into a 3,500 square foot studio he decided to become active in producing and selling films. As part of his strategy he recently directed Renfield the Undead as part of Poison Apple Films first developed feature and is looking forward to other feature films to become part of as producer and sales agent.

Willems is very supportive of the Houston Horror scene and is currently looking for features to represent at AFM and other markets. He believes that Houston can become a Horror Production Center because the talent is here, the locations are here and the desire to become a breakout city in the feature film markets is here.
